Buying Loafers Online in Pakistan: How to Choose the Right Size and Fit

The photograph wins you over first. A clean shape, the right shade of suede, a pair you can already picture with your favourite trousers. Then comes the less glamorous question: will they actually fit?

Buying loafers online in Pakistan is easier when you know what to check before choosing a size. A familiar number is a starting point, but a slip-on shoe also needs to hold your heel comfortably and give your toes enough room.

A few careful measurements, the right size chart and an indoor try-on will tell you more than ordering your usual sneaker size and hoping for the best.

Start with your feet, not your sneaker label

A size that works in one brand or shape may feel quite different in another. Loafers have no laces to tighten when there is too much room, which makes width and the fit across the top of your foot especially worth checking.

Use your current shoes as a clue. If a favourite pair fits beautifully, note the brand, model and size. If it only stays on with thick socks, do not treat that number as proof of a good fit.

Measure again before ordering rather than relying on a size you remember buying years ago. The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons’ shoe-fitting guidance also recommends measuring while standing, allowing for the larger foot, and trying shoes with the socks you intend to wear.

How to measure your feet at home

Feet in thin socks being measured on paper before choosing a loafer size.
Measure both feet while standing, using the socks you plan to wear.

You need two sheets of paper, a pencil and a ruler. Measure later in the day if possible, and wear the sort of socks you plan to use with the loafers. A thin no-show sock and a thick sports sock can give you noticeably different results.

  1. Place the paper on a hard, level floor. Stand on it with your weight distributed naturally; do not measure with your foot hanging in the air.
  2. Ask someone to mark the back of your heel and the end of your longest toe, keeping the pencil upright. Your longest toe may not be your big toe.
  3. Step off the paper. Measure the straight heel-to-toe distance in centimetres and write it down.
  4. Repeat for the other foot. Keep both measurements and use the longer one when consulting the chart.
  5. Note whether shoes usually pinch across the ball of your foot or press over the instep. Mention this when asking the seller for sizing advice.

Send your actual foot measurement. Do not quietly add extra centimetres unless the seller’s instructions ask you to. Foot length, insole length and outsole length describe different things.

Read the chart attached to the product

On Dastaan’s product page, open Find your size before making your selection. The current Dastaan Shoe Size Chart linked to Italian Velaro lists the following foot-length references:

EU sizeUS size shownFoot length (cm)
39624.5
40725.0
41826.0
42926.5
431027.5
441128.0
Dastaan’s current chart for reference. Check the selected product’s live size guide before ordering.

These are Dastaan’s listed references, not a universal conversion between every US and EU shoe size. Other shops may label the same number differently.

The chart advises choosing the larger size if you fall between two sizes. If you also have a narrow heel, a wide forefoot or a high instep, send your measurements and chosen model to Dastaan before ordering. Going longer does not automatically solve a width problem.

For example, the chart pairs a 26.5 cm foot length with EU 42 and the displayed US 9 option. That is a chart reference, not a guarantee that every foot of that length will suit the same shoe shape.

What a good loafer fit should feel like

Try both loafers indoors with your usual socks before wearing them outside.

Try on both shoes, with your usual socks, on a clean indoor surface. Stand up, take a few ordinary steps and turn around. Sitting down can make a questionable fit feel more forgiving than it really is.

At the toes

Your toes should not hit the front, feel squeezed together or press against the upper. Check your longest toe rather than judging only by how the shoe looks from above.

Across the top of the foot

The upper should hold your foot comfortably. A firm fit is different from pinching. If you feel pressure, numbness or a strong urge to take the shoe off, do not tell yourself that discomfort is simply part of buying loafers.

Around the heel

Watch what happens as you walk. If the shoe repeatedly lifts away from your heel, or you curl your toes to keep it on, pause before wearing it outside. A pair that is loose enough to slip may need a different size or a different shape.

Suede may soften with wear, but that is no reason to accept a shoe that is too short or painfully tight. Thick socks and heel pads should not be your plan for rescuing an obviously unsuitable purchase.

Choose the style, then check that particular model

A sleek loafer and a chunky loafer can have very different proportions. The outside shape does not prove how much room there is inside, so ask about the specific model rather than assuming all loafers from one shop fit identically.

For a clean, understated look: Italian Velaro

The Italian Velaro’s plain slip-on upper and white sole work easily with chinos, relaxed trousers and shalwar kameez. If you are building an everyday wardrobe, our university and college loafer guide shows several ways to wear it. Check its size guide before choosing your colour and size.

For a bolder silhouette: Classic Chunky Suede Loafers

A chunkier sole gives the outfit more visual weight, particularly alongside straight trousers or denim. That is a styling choice, not evidence of a wider fit. Confirm the sizing for this model separately.

For a more polished finish: Elite Mock Penny Loafer

A penny strap and smooth finish suit sharper trousers and a tucked-in shirt. Dastaan lists the Elite Mock Penny Loafer as faux leather, so do not buy it expecting the same material or softening behaviour as suede.

Check the exchange conditions before paying

Fit advice is useful; knowing what happens if the fit is wrong is just as useful. Read the current Dastaan exchange policy before placing your order, especially during a sale.

At the time of writing, eligible size exchanges must be requested within seven days of delivery. Shoes must be unused and unworn, with the original packaging, labels, tags and protective stickers intact. The customer pays the return shipping, and the policy lists a Rs. 400 delivery fee for sending the replacement.

Discounted and sale items have a separate restriction: the published policy allows exchanges for defective, damaged or incorrect items, but does not offer ordinary size exchanges on those purchases. It also states that cash and store-credit refunds are not available. Confirm any uncertainty with support before ordering.

Keep the packaging while you assess the fit. An indoor test on a clean surface is much more sensible than discovering a problem after a full day outside.

A quick check before you place the order

  • You have measured both feet and kept the longer heel-to-toe measurement.
  • You have checked the size guide for the exact model, including whether the labels say US, UK or EU.
  • You have told support about width or instep concerns instead of guessing a larger size.
  • You have selected the intended colour and size and checked their availability.
  • You have read the exchange conditions that apply to the price and promotion you are buying.

If you need help, send Dastaan the product name, both foot lengths and a short description of your usual fit. A message such as “my longer foot is 26.5 cm and shoes often pinch across the front” gives the team much more to work with than “I normally wear nine.” You can reach them through the contact page.

Questions shoppers often ask

Should I buy loafers one size smaller?

Not as a blanket rule. Start with the selected model’s chart and your measurements. Sizing down to stop heel slip can create a new problem at the toes.

What if I am between sizes?

Dastaan’s current chart advises the larger size. If the length suggests one size but you expect a loose heel or a tight instep, ask about that model before placing the order.

Can I use the same size as my sneakers?

Use it as background information, not the final decision. Compare your measured foot length with the loafer’s own guide and check the sizing system shown.

Can I exchange a discounted pair if I choose the wrong size?

The current published policy excludes ordinary size exchanges on sale and discounted items. Check the live policy and speak to support before paying if you are unsure.

The best-looking pair is the one you can wear without thinking about your feet all day. Choose the shape you like, give the sizing a few careful minutes, and let a comfortable fit finish the outfit.
